Our multitude of religions are humanity's way of responding to our reality of being simply "alive" and "fully awake." They are a reflection of our yearning to know ourselves, where we came from, and where we are possibly going after our physical life cease to exist. It is a natural craving for us to not only build a relationship with everything that we come in contact with, but that which we cannot fully comprehend such as the Source of All Life. This Source of Existence has been addressed by many names: Yahweh, Brahman, Great Mother, Father, Creator God, Allah, High God(dess), Tao, the Divine, Great Spirit, etc. In addition to having many names, this Transcendent Reality is referred to as being one (monotheism) or many (polytheism) with countless attributes or manifestations. Showing Respect Towards all Religions

"Whether or not we like the philosophy of other religions isn't really the point. For a non Buddhist, the idea of nirvana and a next life seems nonsensical. Similarly, to Buddhist the idea of a Creator God sometimes sounds like nonsense. But these things don't matter; we can drop them. The point is that through these different traditions, a very negative person can be transformed into a good person. That is the purpose of religion-and that is the actual result. That alone is sufficient reason to respect other traditions."
(words of the His Holiness Dalai Lama-The Four Noble Truths)
